Howie Appel
Executive Director
Originally from the Greater Boston area, Howie has been a Corporate Recruiter with over 25 years experience in the recruitment of both engineering and IT talent. He has worked for several firms on a contract basis, (among which are Nextel and AAA National Headquarters). His experience also includes agency and consulting work. His primary focus has been in the areas of college recruitment, database management, and vendor control/management (agencies). He is used to a multi-location firm wherein he is given assignments to fill mid to upper level positions in each of these satellite offices. He has been known to travel up to 75% of the time. He also represented his last employer, an engineering firm, at engineering conferences throughout the United States. Howie is a trainer as well, having lead, on a volunteer basis, ProNet Central Florida. He has been leading our organization since 2003. A dedicated, results oriented professional, he puts in well over 110% on any assignment. He is able to organize and manipulate email campaigns as well. His ability to source quality candidates, surf the internet and find the niche sites as well as find the places where people gather is both unique and highly polished. Christine A. Lavender

Call Center Project Management Professional, she has over 30 years experience in the design, planning and implementation of world wide call centers. Her experience has focused on providing call center expertise for companies such as, Thomson Publishing, Clark Boardman Callaghan, Westlaw, Lexus, CCH Inc, Wolters Kluwer and Bowne Business Solutions. She received her Project Management Certification in 2003 from Wolters Kluwer while providing world class Business Processing Analysis for their customer service organization. She also has certifications in Document Management systems and has managed the processes and programming for document retention systems. COMMITTEES:
Program Coordination
Chairperson: Chris Lavender, Director

Description:
The person assigned to this position will work in concert with the Executive Director in insuring all operational functions are sound. They will insure that the room is firmed up; they will act as a back up for all other committees. They will be on Linkedin, facebook, yahoogroups, and be responsible for correct content on all of these venues. They will also see to it that the front desk is manned for the meeting. They will take the spot if vacated. A monthly report will be submitted to the Steering Committee at the monthly meeting. This person will be very active during the monthly meeting. They will act as the liaison from the registration desk and the Executive Director. They will insure all logistics are done to insure the meeting runs smoothly including signaling the Executive Director as changes in the logistics come about. During the month they will stand ready to work alongside the Executive Director to insure the smooth flowing of all communications. This person will also take notes at the Steering Committee meeting or insure that the notes are taken and sent to Steering Committee Members at least one week prior to the monthly meeting.
Finance

Description:
It is preferred (but not required) that the member be either a CPA or Accountant and will take all monies collected at the registration desk, convey correct amount to Board of Directors. All monies coming in and going out will be recorded by this person. All receipts will be properly documented. All disbursements will be accounted for by the Director of Finance. This committee member will attend Steering Committee and monthly meetings.
Organization & Development

Description:
Will be responsible for creation and changes to Bylaws, perform grant exploration, and handle any not-for-profit status issues. They will assemble and coordinate all paperwork for the 501(c) (3) documentation. This group will also be responsible for assembling the ProNet Career Resources (dba ProNet Central Florida) Business Plan. Will also insure timely submission of documentation of not-for-profit status is complete along with bylaws and other appropriate registrations. Will insure registration desk is appropriately manned for all meetings. Will attend Steering Committee and monthly meetings.
Marketing/Publicity

Description:
This team will act as liaison between the Executive Director and all television and radio media in our coverage area. It will insure publicity is given to the Orlando Sentinel and be a back up for the Orlando Business Journal. They will attend to any other media that services the Central Florida area. They will report to the Executive Director that each media has been addressed. Will attend Steering Committee and monthly meetings.

Description:
This person will insure the content on the web site is correct and provide additional information for that site. They will also fashion a monthly newsletter to provide for the Executive Director to send out to a mailing list. The monthly agenda, speaker notes, and future speakers should be in this newsletter.
The Webmaster will immediately address issues on our Central Florida chapter site www.pronetcentralflorida.org and www.pronetcareerresources.org They will insure all "bells and whistles" are intact and we present the best possible image to the public. This could include separating from our current host and carrying the entire responsibility on our own. Will attend Steering Committee and monthly meetings.
Operation Employer Relations
Chairperson:

Description:
This committee will partner up with other members to go to the largest employers in Central Florida armed with a cover letter/introductory letter and information about ProNet Career Resources. They will attempt to visit at least 2-3 large employers per week. Their main object is to provide as much information about our organization to the Director of Human Resources, recruiting, or hiring managers. The primary goal is to provide exposure to prospective employers. The ulterior motive is to see if there are positions available for themselves or their peers. The ideal member will be a person who has worked as an Account Executive for a search firm, or a Business Development Manager for a like firm. The person will create lasting relationships with hiring managers, Human Resource professionals, and Gatekeepers. Will attend Steering Committee and monthly meetings.
Subject Matter Experts / Guest Speakers

Description:
This team will insure that there is a speaker for every monthly meeting. They will keep a log of all committed speakers. They will report to the team at the monthly meeting. The will see to it that the E.D. has an appropriate introduction for each featured speaker. Will attend Steering Committee and monthly meetings.
Experience Plus
Chairperson: Susan Bieberfeld, Associate Director
Description:
This team is responsible for addressing the employment needs of the 50+ demographics. The lead will pair up with the E.D. to insure that AARP and other organizations catering to this population is a strong part of the ProNet Career Resources program. This will answer all questions with regard to what our organization is doing to help find employment for "experienced" members.
Training
Chairperson: Vacant Director of Training
Description:
This team will develop a program consistent with the federal government's initiative to build a training program that can be funded by the federal government. Our goal here is to fall in line with their directives and initiatives. Our membership will be asking for training in various fields and occupations. This team will study all that is available to bring this scenario about. Will attend Steering Committee and monthly meetings.
