Workforce Re-Employment Connection Program

Are you laid off and looking for work? With more than $4 million in stimulus funds under the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA (WCF) has created the Re-Employment Connection, a program that will provide valuable work experience for 700 adults, ages 22 and up, in local jobs. Participants will earn $10 an hour and work up to 40 hours a week.

WCF is searching for adults ages 22 and up who live in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake and Sumter Counties who fit the following “dislocated worker” requirements:

• If you have been terminated, laid off or downsized
• If you are eligible for receiving unemployment compensation
• If you have exhausted your unemployment benefits
• If you worked at a facility with more than 25 employees that announced a permanent layoff
• If you are a homemaker who no longer receives support from another family member and are looking to enter the workforce
• If you were self-employed and currently unemployed due to a natural disaster or economic conditions

Each month WCF will accept 75 applicants on a first come, first served basis. Priority will be given to veterans and their spouses.
